Ok so I bought stevia. I need an occasional sweetener that is not going to widen my hips. I am morally opposed to Aspartame and all of it’s cousins. So I found this at my local healthfood store and would love feedback from anyone who has tried it. I will always favor maple syrup and honey but tonight I tried some stevia in my apple cider vinegar drink ( a tale for a different day) and it was quite good and I don’t feel like I sucked on a test tube full of chemicals. Thoughts?

I’m using Stevia for a long time now. 2 days ago it was legalized where I live, but every alternative food store already sold it for some time as a cosmetic ingredients.
In the beginning I really had to get used to the taste. Now I use it for everything. And I mean everything. For baking, tea, coffee, deserts…
If you get used to it, it really can replace sugar. But don’t overdose it, or it will taste bitter. And it’s very sweet. A tiny bit of Steviosid powder is enough for a cup.
Have fun!
Thanks for the info!!! I have a tried it a couple of more times and I notice that it doesn’t have the same terrible aftertaste as the “substitutes.” I am guessing if you have been using it for years along with half of Europe and Asia there are no known side effects. I figure it has to be a better choice than aspartame. 🙂
